Thanks to this integration and enhanced hardware, EonStor DS 4000 Gen2 systems deliver 20% higher IO/s performance and a 30% improvement in write throughput than its previous generations.
Working closely with Intel, the company is one of the 1st storage providers to integrate the Xeon processor D-1500 product family and optimize their design for specific processor features that are tailored to enterprise SAN and cloud storage. This integration, combined with 128MB memory, dual host board, 12Gb SAS support in drives, host and expansion ports, and SSD optimization features, enables to deliver a 11,000MB/s read, 5,500MB/s write throughput and end-to-end 600,000 IO/s.
EonStor DS 4000 Gen2 systems offer integration for VMware SRM and VASA and OpenStack, making them for IO/s intensive applications such as VDI, Web server, database, and cloud computing. Their high throughput also makes them a choice for media and entertainment applications.

Available as a 2U 24-bay small form factor (SFF) high density system, EonStor DS 4000 Gen2 saves data center space and lowers energy bills. Other form factor models will be released later this year.
